How to Reduce Redness by Avoiding Common Triggers
If your skin tends to overheat, certain foods and beverages can trigger redness and inflammation. Being aware of these triggers can help you manage flare-ups more effectively.
Foods & Drinks That Aggravate Heating Skin
1.    Alcohol – It dilates capillaries, increasing blood flow and causing flushing. If you notice redness after a glass of wine, consider moderating your intake.
2.    Coffee – While not everyone reacts, excessive consumption can lead to skin redness. If your skin is inflamed, try cutting back.
3.    Spicy Foods – Chilli, wasabi, and certain paprikas generate heat in the body, which can trigger redness.
4.    Oranges & Strawberries – Surprisingly, these otherwise healthy fruits can contribute to skin irritation. Many clients report rashes during strawberry season.
5.    Peanuts & Cashews – Particularly in children with eczema, these nuts can be irritating.
Environmental Triggers for Heating Skin
Beyond diet, environmental factors also play a role in skin redness:
1.    Heat Exposure – Sun, saunas, hot baths, fireplaces, car heaters, and even hot oven air can trigger redness.
2.    Intense Exercise – Perspiration combined with overheating can worsen inflammation.
3.    Extreme Cold – Sudden transitions from cold outdoor air to warm indoor environments can cause capillaries to contract and expand, leading to redness.
